The lively crowds that have been following Starmount volleyball during the state playoffs have certainly been getting their money’s worth.

A Mount Airy High girls tennis player will compete for a state championship Saturday morning. Jordan Jackson won a pair of matches in straight sets Friday to qualify for the 1A singles title bout. She’ll face 2009 runner-up Lori Wang of Raleigh Charter for the state trophy at 9 a.m. at Apex’s Middle Creek High School.
