Wilkes Central 72, Elkin 52: The Eagles fell behind by 15 points in the first quarter but roared back to keep their conference record unbeaten. Kawan Newkirk scored 20 points to lead Wilkes Central. Sam Lane had a season-high 28 points for the Buckin’ Elks.
Forbush 74, North Wilkes 60: The Falcons bounced back from last Friday’s loss at home to Ashe County by beating the Vikings on the road. Forbush pulled ahead by outscoring North 15-5 in the third period. Matt Cain and Cody Eller scored 22 and 21 points, respectively to lead the Falcons. Storm Clonch had 23 points, and Garth Bailey netted 19 for the Vikes.

Alleghany 60, West Wilkes 34: Laken Blevins swished three 3-pointers and scored 13 points for the Trojans. Teammate Kennedy Gambill finished with 14 points, seven assists and two steals.
Wilkes Central 52, Elkin 22: The Eagles earned a 30-point victory despite scoring only 2 points in the opening quarter. A 16-2 run in the second quarter and a 19-8 surge in the third gave Central a comfortable lead coming down the stretch. Martha Mastin scored 13 points for Central. Samantha Dimmette led Elkin with 8 points.
Forbush 51, North Wilkes 27: The Falcons earned their first win of the season, jumping out to a 29-10 lead in the opening half. Savannah Hill (13 points) and Brandy Stanley (10 points) led the Falcons in points. Eleven different FHS players found the scorebook in all.
