Kelsey Rector of State Road is no stranger to breaking the 1,000-point plateau in basketball.

East Surry’s girls basketball team used a furious fourth-quarter rally to beat West Stokes 39-32 on Saturday evening. The Cardinals trailed 29-15 early in the final period before outscoring the Wildcats 24-3 over the final 6:35.

West Stokes knocks off unbeaten East Surry

Jacob Nunn swished seven three-pointers, and West Stokes boys basketball team knocked East Surry from the ranks of the unbeaten on Saturday evening. Nunn finished with 26 points in all, and the Wildcats enjoyed a 58-38 triumph on their home floor.
