Surry Knights win four games in three days

Surry Community College’s softball team picked up four big wins over the weekend. The Knights beat Ferrum College 6-3 and 7-1 on the road last Thursday, then topped conference rival Stanly Community College 4-3 and 2-0 on Saturday.
Pitcher Chelsea Craddock, a Surry Central graduate, earned the win from the circle in game two, striking out 12 of the 23 batters she faced.
Beaver and Craddock paced the Knights’ from the pitcher’s circle against Stanly, with each getting wins.
Kayla Epling (Independence HS, WV) went 2-for-3 in the opener, recording two RBIs. Megan Mabe (Glenn High) hit a pair of sacrifice flies for RBIs. Haley Durham (Surry Central) tripled and scored a run. Johnson was 1-for-3 with a run.
In game two, Starmount graduate Brittany White and Mabe led the offense. Both players went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Surry is scheduled to host a Region X doubleheader against Patrick Henry Community College on Wednesday and another region twinbill on Friday against Spartanburg Methodist.
