‘Heal The Hurt’ combine to benefit injured player

The first Heal The Hurt Football Combine will be held Saturday, June 2 at Starmount High School. The rain date is June 9.

Christian Hurt celebrates Starmount's football victory over Wilkes Central on the final night of the regular season. Hurt is currently awaiting surgery after suffering a neck injury in the state playoffs.

The cost is $10 per athlete, and all money raised will go to the medical needs of Starmount student-athlete Christian Hurt, who suffered a serious neck injury in a football playoff game last November and is awaiting a special surgery.

Athletes will compete against members of their class – i.e. seniors vs. seniors, juniors vs juniors, etc. Those in grades 8-12 are invited to compete.

Events will include:
• Bench Reps – 8th (90 lbs), 9th – 10th (135 lbs), 11th – 12th (185 lbs)
• Pro Shuttle
• Standing Broad Jump
• L Drill
• 40 Time

Other Events:
• Jump Houses – for younger kids.
• Punt, Pass, and Kick – for grades K-7 – $5
• Concessions

A special Combine T-Shirt will be sold for $10. Admission is $2 for those who want to watch.
