Our Magazines


Lusk Media, the parent company for Yadkin Valley Sports, launched a series of glossy high school sports magazines in 2010 that serve the Yadkin Valley and the greater Northwestern North Carolina area.

We debuted Foothills Football in August 2010. This magazine focused on the 17 high school football teams that play in the Mountain Valley 1A/2A Conference (Elkin, Starmount, Forbush, East Wilkes, Wilkes Central, West Wilkes, North Wilkes, Alleghany and Ashe County) and the Northwest 1A/2A Conference (Mount Airy, Surry Central, East Surry, North Surry, West Stokes, North Stokes, South Stokes and Bishop McGuinness).

Our debut edition was 84 full-color pages packed with team previews, feature stories, preseason rankings, players-to-watch lists, profiles and more.

This past winter, we also published a Foothills Football 2010 Season Wrap-Up edition. This 48-page glossy magazine covered the ins and outs of the 2010 campaign, with conference recaps, an all-Foothills Team, power rankings, features, lots of full-color photos and more.

In November 2010, we debuted the first edition of Foothills Basketball. This 64-page glossy publication covered the same two conferences as the football magazine (adding Winston-Salem Prep to the mix, which is a basketball member of the Northwest 1A/2A). As with our football magazine, we sought to get readers ready for the upcoming hoops season with an array of team and conference previews, players-to-watch lists, feature stories, schedules, rosters and more.
