Here are scores from the final week of the Sertoma youth football season. The playoffs begin this week and continue for the next couple of weeks.

The final week of the regular season is upon us in the Sertoma youth football league. Week eight wrapped up last Saturday, and there are still a handful of unbeaten teams remaining.

Sertoma youth football scoreboard: Sept. 24 games

Division races are starting to get exciting in the Sertoma youth football league. There are three Saturdays left in the regular season, and plenty remains up for grabs in all divisions. In the Midgets League (grades 7-8), Ashe County remains unbeaten on the 2A side, while four teams – West Wilkes, Alleghany, East Wilkes and North Wilkes – have identical 2-1 divisional records.

The Sertoma youth football season kicked off Saturday afternoon and evening with a full slate of games involving teams from Elkin, Yadkin County, Wilkes County, Alleghany County and Ashe County. Click inside for results from the Aug. 20 action as well as a schedule of upcoming games.

East Bend completes perfect Pee Wees season

Only two teams in the entire Sertoma youth football league finished unbeaten this season. One of those teams was East Bend, which won a handful of close battles with its top rivals to capture the championship in the Pee Wees (grades 5-6) division.

UPDATED: Starmount will host Sertoma Bowl games

The triple-header of championship games will pit Elkin vs. Starmount for the Midgets title, West Wilkes vs. East Bend in the Pee Wees division and West Wilkes vs. Wilkes Central in the Junior Pee Wees division.
